wondering how the horizontal shadows (banding?) got there... any advice will be appreciated. thanks.

out of focus grain on the table surface... then your eye interprets the bands to run across the watch dial (particularly on the first photo (white dial). If you isolate the white dial without the background the bands don't show... although is are some var...

I am not sure what you mean with banding, but for me we see the reflection of the table structure on the glass or dial. You have a very nice collection, thank you for showing

I'm strongly considering 'cashing in' on the Vintage Rolex craze and selling my last Rolex to get a 5196. I've always wanted a Patek, and I've been gravitating towards dressier watches in recent years, and this one is just stunning. I didn't quite 'get it...
