Road Trip...

Oct 18, 2018,02:44 AM

It's that time again... every couple of years I head for Santa Fe, New Mexico (USA) to visit friends.  This time I will also spend a couple of days in Denver with family.  Here are two photos to set the mood... and a 2018 gear shot.  This year I am traveling very light. The Nikon F3P with a AI'ed 2.8cm f/3.5 & AI-S 50mm f/1.2, 11 rolls of film (Kodak Gold 200 & Fuji Neopan 100 & 400), PL filter, ND filter for ISO 400 film, spare protect filter, spare diopter, spare lens cap (I always loose something), my lens cleaning kit, and the Fuji X100T (not shown) with charger & spares (battery & SD card).

No computer, no internet, no email for ten days... no laptop - no access to the Photo Forum, please excuse my absence...  the plan is to be back in Tokyo in time for Halloween...

Halloween in Shibuya, Tokyo in and around the zebra crossing is an experience... the costumes are always fantastic. Most likely the celebrations start over the preceding weekend. Casey

hahaha.... I'll see what I can do ; )

I usually end up at Harry's Roadhouse (Old Las Vegas Highway in Santa Fe) at least once or twice when ever I visit, great wine selection as well... highly recommended. Casey

I can see you chose one of Nikon’s best! The F3. What are your lenses you brought along? Is that a 50mm f/1.2? Enjoy your trip! René

Thanks for the gear comment René ...

The camera is a Nikon F3P which is one of my fav traveling cameras. The "P" version has a few 'improvements' over my backup F3HP which make a big difference to the shooting experience. The lenses in the photo are an AI'ed Nikkor-H 2.8cm f/3.5 and an AI-S ...

Thanks for the clarification Casey 👍🏼

the sky in the high desert of New Mexico is something else... lovely sunsets and the wonderful clouds - nothing like a storm in the distance. I can understand why Georgia O'Keeffe loved the area north of Santa Fe. Casey

Got home late last night after a 12 hour flight from Denver. Super tired and trying to catch-up. Good to be home. Casey
