Photo contest...

Let's have some fun and see your votes…
I would be glad to have your opinion and votes on these pics.
The rules of this contest are extremely simple :
  1. No need to rank them all but only your choice 1, 2, 3
  2. Please explain the reason of your choice for this podium. You may make your choice as per your personal preference of the subject or as per artistic reasons as you wish provided that you explain your choice wink
Let's go :

1. Staircase in the Musée d'Horlogerie in Glasshütte

2. Field of flowers near Gerberoy

3. A starry night in the sky of Provence

4. Monument Valley Buttes in Arizona

5. Baselworld entrance

6. Le Louvre Museum in Paris

7. The Louvre Pyramid in Paris

It is up to you to vote for your 3 favourite ones now…
I am anxiously waiting for your results but I'll be the winner anyhow ! wink
Mike

I don’t know why I could have bet you would choose this one 😉. The place was actually very impressive I must say.

Challenging contest...

I think it's very difficult to 'judge' and review photography. There are always aspect that attract and distract the viewer that are not related to the actual photo... as viewers, we all bring our baggage, plus a lot depends on the viewers equipment (scre...

Super interesting that your top two....

And of course yes you are right it is very subjective to rank photos and this is why the reason of the choice was for me more important than the choice itself. And I have chosen very different ones on purpose to see if there is a consensus at the end or v...

#1 - great composition that draws the eye in

The others are nice, but this one is a step above the rest. (See what I did there...)

Thank you for your input ksmith

I favour number 4 and number 2 in that order. Number 1 could have been on the podium (possibly a winner). The only problem I see with it is (guessing) due to post processing. It looks to me like the jpeg file couldn't handle it. Best

Thanks for your vote claes

The funny thing is that there is NO post processing for this one ! You can go to the Musée d’Horlogerie in Glasshütte and see it with your eyes 😉. But nice podium anyhow . As I was saying I was more interested by the rationale than the votes themselves so...

Interesting...

To me, the way the colours bleed out, looks like jpeg rendering when for example exposure is increased without sufficient information to back it up. Is there some added compression going on when images are uploaded to the website?

Great photos, Mike.

My top 3: 1. Louvre Pyramid (#7) for a specific personal reason 2. Starry night (#3). I just love that romanticism 3. Baselworld entrance (#5), just a cool photo. Thanks for sharing.

1,3,5....in that order. 1 is the winner for me as it appeals to my taste. The colour is just astonishing but also I love how the stairs take you around the image. That movement is what appeals.

Thanks Joe 🙏

Yes that staircase is cool I have to agree, and as we often say blue is the color of love isn’t it ?

If i may split them

Contest results...

 By: Mike H : December 10th, 2018-02:29
I would have expected that some pics would stand out from others but at the end I am amazed how diversified the results are. I gave marks as per your votes 1 2 3 and given a "4" for the pics that were not selected by the voter. Obviously the winning pics ...
