Orchids in Singapore

Nov 22, 2021,16:09 PM

It’s been a while since I’ve walked through the tropical orchid nurseries in Singapore.

Today, I went to a large orchid nursery with a renown luxury fashion editor, to admire and photograph orchids. We chatted the whole morning about exotic orchids and their history.

I reminisced about trekking through Nepal, Peninsula Malaysia searching for these beautiful gems to photograph. Soon, when more borders open, I will travel to jungles to photograph rare orchids.

More from you, have been thinking converting my backyard for orchid

Tropical or temperate?

 By: Cookies : November 24th, 2021-13:41
Both have unique species. I used to keep a tropical collection but when I left Singapore, I had to adapt to the Australian climate for my orchid collecting. The tropical species are hard to keep here but many others do so well.

Beautiful cymbidiums

They bloom with gorgeous flowers, and some types have a nice fragrance. It is very true that microclimates make the difference. I had a plant which could not grow bigger until I shifted it a few metres into a brighter spot, and suddenly it exploded in gro...
