My take it that it's all a bit of a 'trick-statement'...

What I like about "open questions" is that I am forced to think about the two seemingly opposite poles, how there can be granularity (the unexpected) at each end, and how they can complement each other...
The cast of "Seinfeld" always said that the TV show was a series of stories about nothing... that the presentation was everything. The "Blair Witch Project" the story was given at the start of the movie, the tension was technique... Take a look at "The Florida Project" and see how color is used...
How the story is telegraphed can be a 'hook' device or how the color, contrast, saturation can be dictated by the plot (in a traditional sense or in unique ways)...
As a 'landscape' guy, I am attracted by ways of including the human factor in a physical sense or by reference... using traditional techniques or something a bit 'off center'...
Just a few thoughts after thinking about the question over a few days...
