for some reason these photos from that road trip came into my memory recently... so I had to dig into the archives. the b&w were taken with the Leica MP... seems like yesterday. Casey

You doing tours? LOL. My wife keeps talking about going there and at least getting some Kobe beef in Kobe.

Tokyo is still in lockdown... but looking forward to the next tour... It would be nice to visit almost any restaurant ; ) Casey

Hiroshima is a beautiful city. I've been there only once many years ago, but I still have very strong memories of the A-Dome. Thank you for bringing the memories back! Daniel

I made the mistake of walking down the steps to the river edge... the steps are normally underwater and extremely slippery as I discovered ; ) My memories include a little misadventure along the Motoyasu River... Casey

is "Mazda Zoom-Zoom Stadium", home fo the Hiroshima Carp. Looking forward to the delayed start of the baseball season. That last photographs is one of my favorites from the trip in 2011... Casey

the only thing I would consider doing differently is check the tide schedule to shoot at high tide and possibly get stable reflections. Casey

It took a minute to figure out you hadn’t performed magic.

I was traveling with the Leica MP (film) and 50mm / 28mm / 15mm for the b&w… Canon 5D Mk II with 35mm / 85mm. the upper (number 3) was MP & 50mm while the color reflection (number 4) was 5D & 85mm so there was a mismatch in focal lengths... I never found ...

When I first saw this post it was on my iPhone and the two shots had no space between them. Blew my mind until I realized they were two shots. This was a nice set of photos.

I don't have a smart phone, so never worked with that platform... Casey

I love the second one — the individual and the umbrella to the right of the frame stand out, yet blend in perfectly.

that second photo was take with the CV 15mm (version 2) M-mount, optimized for use with film... it was a rainy day ; ) Casey

Nice place nd remember queue up for an hour for the famous okonomoyaki

Good news about restarting with film... I happened to check out my local camera shop and found that they were not-open-but-open. Non-essential shops are still requested to remain closed here in Tokyo but my little mom & pop shop is half open. Only one of ... 

But we've eased up on restrictions a bit depending on area. I can buy beer now

a nice place to visit, not far from the Dome there is this famous okonomiyaki.....long queue for an hour, we were the last batch to enter for dinner.
