It's not peak season ...
and many come here for the hikes and live with the local tribes. There were a few visitors and we met with a couple who came all the way from Britain. From the top to the bottom where the river is takes about 25 mins. Coming up a little longer and more strenuous unless you opt for the sedan chair. 
Back home now and happy to be in front of the computer for a change. No immediate plans but I know I will get the itch again soon.

All I remember is we stayed overnight in some town afterwards. Do you have the new Q? Old or new I'm sure it's more than up to the task!

Using google images, we used Lijiang old town as a base/jump off point to places like the Tiger Leaping Gorge. Afterwards, we moved bases to Shaxi old town in Dali.
