I met Charlie in December 2011
He was one of the staff on a photo workshop that I attended... sponsored by Leica here in Tokyo... we chanced to meet a couple of times after the workshop in the Shibuya area... nice guy, I followed his travels on social media.
From 2012 to 2015 he spent some time in Turkey, before being deported and banned from that country in June (2015) "for reasons of national security". That suits him to a "T"... Using photos from his time in country, Charlie promised to release a photo book... a promise that took five years to reach fruition ; )
In February 2019 I ordered and paid for the book... it arrived 17 months later on 3-July, 2020. Long anticipated, it did not disappoint.
