When I looked at the image in Lightroom it reminded me a little of some of Dorothea Lange’s photographs from the Great Depression and Dustbowl of the 1930’s. The little girl looks so far away from what is happening around her. You wonder what she could be... 

and I am surprised that the husband looks to have tattoos. Reminds of that 1985 movie starring Kelly McGillis and Harrison Ford. There is so much to glean from this 'daily' photograph. Casey .

Many Amish prefer that you not take their picture. This is in compliance with the Second Commandment and goes against their humility values. I remember many years ago on a trip to Lancaster,Pa. asking two darling youngsters selling flowers along the road ... 

Under other circumstances I would either have asked or not taken it at all. Much as I don’t photograph people who are homeless and begging.

and I think that we all have personal guidelines that swing from not at all to anything goes. There is no one size fits all, and it depends ... if it's up close I normally ask and only have been "declined" once, excluding self-censoring - there are many f...

The couple seated facing the camera captured my attention....the features are so vivid. If not for the modern dressing of several people, it looks like we have travelled back in time.

I had my camera looking around at the details in the waiting room but I knew this family were the most interesting so I just waited until the couple looked at each other.

This photo could make any point you like.
