Please allow me to add my two cents,
Recently while viewing a comparaison between full frame and APS-C sensors the reviewer (sorry I forgot his name) mentioned something important about the DOF as being affected by the crop factor, so the images you took with both cameras at 2.8 are not exactly at 2.8.
As the crop factor between them is about 1.5 the f/2.8 aperture on the dial of the APS-C camera lenses is actually 1.5*2.8=4.2 this is why the DOF is larger,
So if you want to compare the two cameras, the canon should be set on f/4.2 while the Fujifilm set on f/2.8 then you get similar DOF.
Unfortunately I only have APS-C cameras and cannot do this test, it would be great to try it and post the results.
In the same context I confirm the I am being able to get really high quality images with my XT-2 and for the purpose I am using it this is more than enough specially when manipulating raw images.
With this camera I am enjoying pure photography without the hassle of a heavy camera and lenses (relatively speaking) .
Cheers
Jad
