I was astounded by the height of the Gateway Arch and the amazing structure to the surface. True work of art on a massive scale. Like an alien structure descended on this earth. Beautiful day today and the light reflected off the surface of the arch perfe...

Elevator to the top...

St. Louis appears to be a well kept secret.

Great botanical gardens, nice museums and lots of great restaurants. And best of all, super friendly people.

The ride in the "capsule" to the top is an adventure itself.

View from the top is amazing. On a windy day, you can feel it sway from the top. REALLY uneasy at first.

Very nice capture and composition

I couldn’t find a good angle with the right light to highlight the surface structure for the entire arch. ...

And just to appreciate the scale of the structure, here's a pic from archives.gov

Thank you RM.

Had to travel to St. Luis last September for a conference. However, it was canceled due to COVID sadly. Next time...

The Gateway Arch construction took over 2½ years (12-Feb-1963 to 28-Oct-1965)...

I remember driving through St Louis on Spring Break in c.1971 on our escape to NOLA. In fact I almost crashed near the arch on the return trip after falling asleep at the wheel. 1,000 miles, 15 hours straight through... foolish times, I will never forget ...

On a clear night if you look up the Arch looks like its a space ship . St . Louis has become a great BBQ town and always great Italian food.

We had some great Italian in the Hill district…

And I can’t get over how friendly the people are.

What’s great picture!
