I feel the others are posing and I like the focus of the shot.

But if forced to pick, I would go for the first for the pose, framing, lighting and the simplicity of the shot. The second one comes close for the sharply focused eyes, the back light that highlights her hair and her expression. Did you use any fill light... 

Marie is #1 on the podium, Dominika is her dauphine 😉 For photo #2, I used natural light from window as backlight and white reflector to light up shadows on the face (no fill-flash)

Runner up is number 3; it makes you wanting to know what she’s thinking. Regards, George

If I would have to pick a favorite it would be nr 4. Reason: 1) I find just a bit to dark 2) just a bit too much light from the back 3) no eyes 4) full face but the main reason I would pick 4 is that it seems more natural less posed than the others. Let i...

My favorites are 1 and 3, followed by 4 and „last“ 2. 1: The woman is captured very well, her pose is very well suited and lighting is very good. The background is my least favorite part of the picture. Reminds me too much of standard backgrounds used for...

to keep the viewers eyes on the face, crop out the legs. Not only are you drawn there due to the contrast between the green and skin tone, but the knee looks derformed due to the shirt blocking some of it. I'd crop the bottom to remove the legs.

...of course provided it is respecting the models and the opinions of others. You are actually expected to pick one (or two) photos that speak to you, to your heart and if possible explain why you like it more.

However, to answer your question, my pick is the first one. The reason is the intensity in her eyes. I feel as if we have eye contact. The tighter crop makes the eyes bigger and more important. I am wondering if it is a different focal length than the oth...

Technically all are fine. But all are lacking. To me, the real art of portraiture is to capture the uniqueness of the person you are shooting. I don’t see that any of these shots achieve that. So for me, none of these are good, they all fail. Sorry to be ...

I am sorry if the tone was wrong. I try to get to the point and sometimes it comes off wrong. I would say that from a purely commercial photography perspective all of these are fine and I am sure that any client looking for a headshot would be more than h...
