Finally. I haven't been out of Tokyo since January 2020. 8½ months hanging around the house, no public transportation, and the only destinations were the supermarket or doctors office. So today I traveled with a good friend by private automobile... destin...

I haven't decided what film to use... I brought along ISO 125, 200, & 400 mostly b&w but a sample of color negative film. Will decide in the morning what film to load. Casey

A road trip mostly done with a car. Which car? A Honda? See the pictures it is no Honda. Let me guess, is it a Mazda?

I really don't know, but will check tomorrow... I am not a car person... it's a van, and very comfortable ; ) Casey

Ask Ted-Lo about his Honda Odyssey. A fine Honda van. When you take pictures of Nagano, it must be a nice department. What i know, they speed skating and Olympic games.

Nissan Serena. That is right, i remember the picture you used on this thread. The fist Japanese car a Nissan Cherry my parents bought after the Fiat Ritmo, when the gear shifter stick broke.

Nagano is one of my favourite places in Japan - I used to spend most of my weekends during the winter ski-ing at Togakushi and Okushiga. I’m sure it will be lovely at the moment.

it's incredibly close to Tokyo... today it took less than 2.5 hours non-stop... very smooth getting out of Tokyo and mostly trucks on the roadway. Great skiing in Nagano... almost as good as Hokkaido ; ) Casey

After breakfast I plan to meet with my friends and do a little touring... it was 15°C during the day here, and tonight I am running the heater... my 'guest house' has no TV so I will curl up with a good book... "The Nickel Boys" by Colson Whitehead. Casey...

It's already been the second best road-trip of 2020, I did spend two weeks in Hokkaido in January ; ) Should be a full time. Casey

Hard to be cooped up for so long. Enjoy the outdoors and the change of scenery. Look forward to some pictures.

The only thing I "miss" are the road-trips and shooting destinations around the city. Some rain overnight, and a bit overcast this morning. The colours are starting to turn... should be a good day. Casey

I was supposed to be in Tokyo this week, the second trip this which I cancelled. I do hope I can be there next summer but I’m skeptical whether or not it will be possible. Enjoy your time outside the metropolis.

I am now in Nagano Prefecture and by chance staying at the same facility as a Japanese friend friend visiting from Yokohama... he's in isolation for two weeks. Not sure if it's a government regulation or self imposed. After the two weeks he will move to t...

as many want the 2020 games to be played out... If the masses to visit during the Olympics, it might be a good time to get out of Tokyo for the duration... all speculation. Casey

Most likely I will give up my license when the renewal period comes around after five years. The exception was that I rode and commuted to work by motorcycle for many years. I have no problem being a passenger ; ) Casey

Hokkaido is a favorite destination... I have traveled to most locations there except... and I would would love to visit... 知床国立公園 (Shiretoko National Park)... maybe next year. Casey

It's different being out in public today... of course a mask 100% of the time. I seem to remember that Nagano Prefecture had two (2) positive test cases on Tuesday last. Very different from Tokyo. Today there's some Ilford ISO 125 b&w in the camera and ti...
