lovely portrait of the stately owl, particularly that first photograph.

I grew up next to a neighbor who raised chickens.
If I remember correctly they didn't make all that much noise.
One thing I do remember was their reaction to rain...

Short shower and they would stay inside, but
all-day rain and they would remain outside.

I would have thought there would be an urban restriction
on raising chickens ; )

In previous articles I called " Wild Kingdom ", I showed the Raptors living in trees in our canyon. Today we are surrounded by cawing crows (or some mean black birds) that are trying to drive an owl out of my rubber tree. He is up high, carefully conceale...

On a normal day we don't hear the chickens, but on a quiet morning they are quite evident

even though their coop is about 100 yards away "as the crow flies". You are right about the juvenile. Full grown are more like this: ...

It must be nice to have the nature so close to you - apart from the noise caused by the crows.

i don't get to see such birds in the wild, so i really appreciate the photos only see mynahs, pigeons and crows here
