Having just returned from a trip to Vietnam, this time to the capital Hanoi and then up North to the mountainous region of Sapa and then east to Ha Long Bay. A wonderful and fulfilling journey altogether with so many superlatives that I don't even know wh...

The lighting really adds depth... the light on the upper part of the tree (left), the lone guy on the right, the smiling phone lit individual, the background... did I mention the light. I like the compositional work on may of the photos (e.g. By the lake ... 

I'm glad the second photo came out ok. I'm always a bit wary with night time photos as I don't use flash. I had the lens wide open at f1.7, SS/125 and Iso 800. The trekking and visiting different villages was fun and very humbling. The villagers were very...

The street train has become a major attraction with tourist. Cheap beer, best views, friendly people. ...  

My fav are the streets and train track photos. Used to head into HCM and Hanoi for frequent short work trips previously but never took the time to extend my stay to take in the marvelous scenery of the country. And I dont recall ever seeing a 😍 rider aka ...

and a stimulation for the senses. Superb hotels, food and the friendliest of people. Unspoilt countryside and a thriving and exciting city environment. Your dollar also goes a long way there although the local currency takes some getting use to due to the... 

love those trains that literally drive through someone's Living Room.

You are right about the trains and the people living next to the tracks. They go about their daily lives in a normal fashion and just move aside when the train comes along, like clockwork. Many have now converted their residences to cafes and pubs etc. to...

All are excellent photos, but for me the one but last is wonderful.

They also have some of the most beautiful women in Asia.

Cheaper, less commercial, friendly people and more authentic - but it won't last. And yes.
