Yeah I hadnโ€™t noticed the autocorrect typo. But flog is quit different from flock ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€

The few in flight photos are still experimenting. Trying to figure out when to shoot. Iโ€™m not going to sit there with the camera aimed at them all day haha.

But compared to 6 months back Iโ€™m getting there

Parrots or parakeets

A flog of parrots (officially they are Rose Ringed Parakeets) has settled around the estate here. Although beautiful birds to see, they are not native birds to this country. And it's almost impossible to catch them well with a camera. The reason is simple...

Hello Sire

I appreciate your true patience to capture these parrots. It seems you not only needed the right โ€œpicture taking posture,โ€ but also that you had to learn the patterns of these birds due to their sporadic movements. Itโ€™s awesome that you timed correctly, a...

Much appreciated my friend

I agree, the first 3 are better. The ones in flight are still experimental and learning how to best get them in the viewfinder

We have flocks of parrots here as well that are not native

They escaped from our zoo and are quite comfortable with our mild winter.

Are yours eating up the natural birds as well?

These greens are taking over the neighborhood so to speak

I think (hope) they're vegan

We feed them sunflower seeds. They're also extremely extremely loud when they feed as a flock.

We have parrots in my area of California too

There are many flocks around the state, but at least 50 in our area. Here are a few in my rubber tree. I just have to sit in the kitchen and take these photos with them at 10-20 yards range: A different variety than the one Jurry is seeing, and they are o...

Ha cross Atlantic birds

Nice pictures. And indeed these birds are very loud with high pitch kind of yelling as if they are in panic (which they are not as they control the area so to speak)

Number 01 and 05

The first for the detail and face-on composition. The fifth for group action well captured & executed. I am not familiar with the term "flog of birds". A search finds examples of usage but no dictionary reference. Good theme for these stay at home days. C...

Ha yes right haha [nt]

There's a covey of quail in our backyard . . .

 By: Dr No : September 18th, 2020-16:35
. . . but they were easy to capture photographically . . . . . . as we used to feed them. After experiencing mice issues (apparently, mice like bird seed, too), we stopped feeding them a few years ago. This morning, at least a dozen quail were parading ar...

There was a baby quail cooing at my cat yesterday

 By: cazalea : September 19th, 2020-09:10
I came up out of my office and saw the cat hypnotizing the bird, who had come down from the wall and was sitting about 6 feet from Tiger. I think I was just in time to prevent a massacre, as the bird flew up on a wire, and Tiger shot me a Furious Look. Bu...

Mom startled a hawk that had one of 'our' quails in its clutches . . .

. . . by opening and slamming the back door a few times. Lucky quail escaped with his life . . .

Thank you my friend [nt]

i'm enjoying your photos of birds as usual

 By: terbaboom : September 19th, 2020-11:24
especially the first three... though both the bird and the leaves are green, your photos show the details very clearly
