years back, the most popular place in that area was probably a wet market with many hawker stalls serving delicious local food at the upper level. the market is still there and there are also many cafes and restaurants in the area now.

the city scrapers in that photo are the newer blocks of public housing. and yes, the local coffee shops in that area serve delicious food as well

when it comes to discussing the origins of these dishes/desserts personally, as long as they taste good, the exact origins don't matter

I’ve not been back for more than 2 years now. I recall the excellent food there and the bird-keeping folks nearby.

there are private apartments in the estate also. about 80% of the local population stays in public housing. the size of the apartments ranges from 650 sqft to 1,200 sqft and for a land-scarce country, it's generous

i would say majority of public housing here are not meant for low income households, especially not when 80% of the local population stays in public housing. you can easily find Mercedes, BMWs, Audis and even the occasional supercars in the owners' carpar...
