Of course there are the airport lines, checkin at hotels and unruly kids to add the contrast of “real life”. Thanks for sparing us those images.

Careful planning, going off season can mitigate some of the undesirable aspects of travelling. Luckily, everything worked in our favour and there were no nasty surprises but I do get your point.
