A coldspell has hit The Netherlands and for first time since many years, outdoor skating is possible again. These 2 photos were today in our Dutch newspaper and although i normally wouldnt post a screenshot, these 2 are to beautiful to ignore. Photos cred...  

Skating On natural ice is so unique

As I’m a Dutchman as well I’m really looking forward to to snow which is coming tonight and tomorrow. Unfortunately due to climate change we haven’t had any of the beautiful sceneries as you posted in the past years... Hopefully we’ll get a glimpse of it ... 

Did that many times in the past. A.o. 79 which was last time the tour from Kampen to Nijkerk and back following the shores of Veluwe Meer. Distance approx 90-100 km Didn’t participate in the Elfstedentocht wasn’t a member back then

Of the two, I favor the second one... I don't normally see such beautiful newspaper photography as this. Casey

But they are both good. For me the central framing of the bottom photo is not as refined as the top, I find it pleasant but unremarkable. And also for me the top photo evokes place which is an added element and I find the composition is superior on first ... 

Personally I like the second best. The exposure and colors are so natural. Close to our home in the Netherlands is a nature bird reserve which looks very similar to photo 2 Photo 1 is nice but for most Dutch people probably not to “tourist” orientated. Bu...
