Opinion needed. 3970EP for 5131 Enamel World time Should I?
Hello everyone! I have been buying and collecting watches for many years. In 07, I had a chance to acquire a 3970 platinum with diamond dial and I love the watch. Recently, I have heard a lot of talk about the enamel dial World Time 5131. The watch looks really nice and I heard that the history of this kinna watch is very very good (both in term of collection and valuation). The price in the grey market is very high and I heard getting one on list price is next to impossible. In fact, the price on grey market is as high as the current going rate for 3970 P. Here is my question and if I am violating any rules in here, I am sorry in advance. Given a choice, would you trade a 3970p over 5131 world time enamel (straight swap). Preference, opinions, suggestions or/and comments will be highly appreciated. Thank you so much in advance.

the owner of the 5131 is trying to ake a profit.... In my opinion this is more likely..... I think that it is a pity that several 5131 were sold to people that intended to simply make a profit...... Sad... Cheers

I am a huge fan of the 3970 and worldtime. I fully appreciate the complexity of creating such a magnificent enamel dial but too just see the watch as a basic worldtime with a fancy dial. The 3970 is a perpetual calendar chronograph, which is an amazing ac...

It is clearly impossible to compare them: Hw vs Automatic Worldtimer vs Perpetual Calendar and chronograph Platinum vs gold... In pure horological contents, the 3970 doesn't play the same league... I would say: choose the one which has the complications w...

Hello, although I would long to possess a ref 5131 I would clearly prefer a 3970 P if I had to choose! I never pay more than retail - time will tell ... we have often seen prices "come back" after some time of speculation... just my 2 cents erich
