I buy new through Goveberg in Philly. They are hands down the best US AD. They don't play the games you speak of. If it a piece like a 5131. They will put you in line. I was offered the first 5204 in the US from them. I passed.
I buy a lot of discontinued stuff through dealers. I have a bout 4-5 I trust.

Do you just buy from the local shop or do you work with ADs worldwide?
Most of the time, used watch dealers or collectors.
The Paris Boutique... I tried several times, they have nothing for me. The only AD in France, they are very Professional, but, they have nothing for me, too. I tried, several times, but it is normal, I am not an important client, so it is logical they don...
I find it very odd
...that different parts of the world have very different things to offer. Some ADs in certain countries are able to "just get" amazing pieces while others make clients jump through hoops (U.S. in particular).
