Calatrava Cross

I am also interested in the reason why PP adopted the coat of arms from the Military Order of Calatrava as the trade mark of their Company Products.
I can`t find any explanation of this affair so far. But I imagine the 2 aspects.IMHO
1 Calatrava Cross is noble, beautiful and suitable for the legacy of supreme watch company.
2 The Stern`s respecting & relieving the hardship of their founders(asylum aristocrats from Poland in the 19C)
description itself of Calatrava Cross is written in the next site

What is the Calatrava Cross and why is it the Patek Philippe emblem? If the truth is told, nobody can be entirely certain how it happened. According to Patek Philippe literature, the Calatrava Cross was adopted by Patek Philippe as “an identifying brand-s...

I was informed during the factory tour that the Calatrava Cross was introduced when the Sterns took over in 1932/33. They were devout Catholics and the cross was meant to symbolise their faith and protect the wearer.

Part of the Huguenot Cross

Geneva came under the rule of Jean Calvin during the French Wars of Religion when Huguenots fled France to Protestant regions in Germany and Switzerland. The Huguenot Cross was made up of a Maltese cross with four fleur-de-l is at the cross intersections....

Well spotted, I hadn't realised that

Very interesting that they took only part of the Huguenot cross, so that the message remains somewhat hidden.
