vintage feel to this 5227G... love it
When I was getting this calatrava, seemed like everyone on this forum was in favor of the R or Y version for it matches with the lacquered dial of 5227s.
But being a white gold guy, I went against the majority and chose 5227G and am in absolute love with it!! (It is discontinued now and gave its place to 5227G black dial)
I am just loving this yellow, eggshell-ish lacquered dial which gives it a very vintage feel. Perfect companion for daily wear to work with suit & jacket.
And as you all know... the "invisible hinged" officer's caseback which reveal its beautiful finish.... is just icing on the cake!!!!!
While I do believe calatravas go best with suits, this 5227 can be rocked with some leather jackets as well!
Simple design=can be worn anytime anywhere except for beaches :P

Didn't realize the 5227G is discontinued. Seems like a core PP offering...wonder what will replace it... I agree regarding versatility. The 5227 and similar Calatravas can be worn with suits and also with more casual wear. They look great with nearly ever...
