I thought so but it always amazes me that people criticize the 5524 which is 42mm case 31mm movement

Well if people critisize the 5524 for the case/movement ratio and not the 5970, then something went wrong with the 5524 case design.

Also, people who even care about the case/movement ratio in a semi-sports watch from PP, like the 5524, are people who are able to comment on something that is clearly subjectively negative.
