Traveling again, so another “travel watch” dispatch!

Feb 08, 2020,01:34 AM

I haven’t posted in a while, it’s been a very busy month or so with some good stuff and some bad stuff.  Almost at the end of it now and will be heading “home” soon.

Current travel companion is the ever versatile Nautilus. It’s hard to beat, the slim case, and the slim and (to me) extremely comfortable bracelet.

I always preferred the white dial once that became an option and in fact when the 5726 was released with the white dial that almost because my first Nautilus.  I’m happy in hindsight I held off at the time as the 5711 for me is a better companion.

I would like to say that current status of this specific watch is somewhat irrelevant to me but that is no longer true. I find myself not wearing this watch much in the last three years or so as personally I feel in certain environments there is a kind of negative attention it attracts (I’m not talking about safety, rather “opinions” or assumptions which have little to do with the iconic design or history of the Nautilus).

Conversely on this trip I chose to wear it because I’m somewhere where nobody will notice it, or know what it is.  So I can enjoy it in peace if you will.

I doubt that I’ll be the first to tell you to wear it on all trips, and not let other people’s perceptions have any effect on your choices. Life is too short Wear it in good health P.S: I went through the same issue with my current travel watch, which I p...

I’ve never attributed any negativity to wearing any watch until the last few years with this one. But thankfully, I think it’s only in certain areas. This watch was made for my wrist; it really was. Fits like a glove.

Any reason why not to wear it., it’s not an offensive watch, it’s. modest in presence yet everybody who knows just 1 or 2 things about watches will recognize it. Perfect I would say

The white 5711 offers a good contrast to some of your other pieces.

Yeah; it’s almost pedestrian!

In reality a sports watch with a white dial offers something refreshing. That was a main attraction several years ago when I picked this one up.

Sturdy watch. White Nautilus 5711a is also a good choice for a travel watch. Cool. 😎

I tend to wear it more often when traveling, which usually means it gets several consecutive days or more. Every time I put it on I can’t help thinking that it’s just right for my wrist. I have a similar thought with my Chrono Bleu (hence it and the 5711 ...
