Thinking about adding 5327 perpetual calendar.

Oct 15, 2018,20:30 PM

I am in Auckland this week. I stopped by the Patek AD to have a look as I always do in every city I travel to. They had a 5327 R for sale. I was wondering what fellow purists think about this watch. I really like the warmth of the cream colored lacquered dial. 39 mm is the perfect size for my wrist. When the piece came out in 2016 I immediately disliked it because of the Breguet numerals. I thought it was too busy in he pictures. Now that I see it in the metal I think I like that aspect of the dial. The numbers give the dial depth.
I also own the 5270R which I thought was my last Patek. How silly of me to think that. Any thoughts on the 5327 would be appreciated.
Here is a pic of me trying it in at the AD.

Just have them change the hands to Breguet style to match the dial and you're all set. It is one of the nicer modern Pateks out there.

That’s a mighty sweet watch!

I have always been fond of that model ever since it hit the market.

Well done!

Yours is the first wrist I have seen that suits the 5327. This is not a popular reference as many prefer the 5140 and the 3940. The reason being the size is too large and the same movement used in the 37mm 5140 and the 36mm 3940 is used in the 39mm 5327 m...

nice but..

..you will take a big hit on this unless you buy it at the right price. i see versions of the 5327 in basically every PP AD around the world.

I think in general

buying a new Patek perpetual calendar will result in a sharp fall in value if re sold immediately apart from perhaps the new 5320. However, as proven over time and with the earier models, if one keeps the watch for over a decade, it is likely to appreciat...

This is my favorite perpetual calendar

judging solely by the ascetics. The dial exudes so much poetry and elegance.

I absolutely love this watch.

It’s been on my radar since it’s launch. The Rose is stunning. Good luck. Miles.

Thank you all for the nice comments.

I will take my time and look around for a 5327R at a good price. Maybe I can find one that has been lingering in an AD for a long time. The piece I looked at in Auckland has been there since September 1

I just purchased the 5327 G with blue dial and strap and love it- a real modern classic - not sure what all this silliness about 240 Q movement being too small ! It’s a wonderful time piece.

Ha, if you want to have a piece to lose money on and impossible to resell , that’s the one to buy- no comparison to PP .

I absolutely love these and have had to try really hard to stop myself.

I think in Rose it looks stunning. But I am a huge fan of the 5074r. Go on pull the trigger. M.

Yes miles. I am very close.

I love the warmth of the cream dial and rose gold. I think the size at 39mm is perfect. I appreciate the input very much.

I would consider the 5074r if I did not need a house to live in.

I am back from NZ which is where I saw the 5327 in my wrist. I now have to find one in the US and see if I can make a deal.
