Thanks, this is an interesting topic even though I believe we already discussed it a few times and it's difficult to be more precise. Nobody has the official numbers, though I recall I casually had this conversations with people at Patek in the past.

What I'm pretty sure about is the number of 5131 dials produced for each of the four metals is more or less in the same ballpark. The fact that some 5131 iterations lasted less (R and P) does not necessarily imply production was also less, as these things are obviously planned long in advance. As for what this number is I never asked and it's anybody's guess, but a simple estimate would be to assume 200 to 300 dials were produced for each metal, for a likely total of 1,000-1,200 ;-)
Also interesting, what every collector has probably noticed is that the initial 5231J production/distribution seems to be substantially higher than for the 5131. I would be surprised here if the *final* numbers will be significantly higher however, for a number of reasons. (This is just my personal guess for now though ;-)
