By the way i had lunch with the patek rep and my AD this week and was told if we thought this years offerings we good at basel next years will be even better. In particular i was told there will be a new watch to fit in between the 5207 and the 5016,a totally brand new watch will be released that has never been made along the classic theme and although he never confirmed it the patek rep also didn't deny a replacement for the 5970 as well. Lastly i asked if the 5016 was being phased out and he said no

i have always believed that patek only makes two of these every year , however i am now wondering if this is the case as there seems to be a few around for sale on the gray market. Does any body have any better info on this piece.

Hi, I don't have your answer, and knowing Patek Phillipe habits, I don't think something has it outside of Patek Philippe people (and not all of them). But I too doubt seriously it's only two per year. Cheers Dje
