Steel bracelet on white gold watch
Sep 20, 2020,00:37 AM
I am considering adding a watch which is elegant but slightly more casual, I really like the 3445 on bracelet and similar models but am keen to buy a more modern watch, examples of what I am considering are 5296G sector and Lange 1 black luminous dial.
My dilemma is that I would like to be able to put the watch on a bracelet every now and then (as it is supposed to be a bit more of a casual option) but having looked into potentially having a white gold bracelet made Iโve concluded that, at least for the time being, I would not like to spend that much on a bracelet (c. 10k EUR) and hence I was wondering what your thoughts are on potentially buying a steel Milanese bracelet and put it on a white gold watch - would it be obvious there is a mismatch / would it look off?
Appreciate your thoughts!

Appreciate the thoughts and to be honest I wasnโt expecting the response to be that it will work well but thought it would be worth getting the opinions of others as well before discarding the idea I will have to consider whether the ability of being able...
Steel is harder than gold

Given that steel is much harder than gold, you would run the risk that over time the steel bracelet would grind away on the inside of the gold lugs on the watch, permanently ruining them. Donโt do it.
