Something strange with PP movements !
Dear friends,
I just realize that the 2 automatic movements with micro-rotor used, on the one hand, in the regulator, and on the other hand in the new travel time watch related this year at SIHH, share the same basic reference 31-260. However the look totally different ! And the "new" one seems to use much less silicon technology.
Do you know what are the differences and to which extent they are basically the same ?

It's weird
What gets on my nerves the most is the fact that Patek is cutting corners by NOT cutting corners if you know what I mean... Where are all the interior angles? Did the Grinch steal all of them? Why???
Agree, I think the first movement is more honest
As it doesn’t want to pretend to have inward angels. The second though: I don‘t get it that they are somehow indicated but not really executed. Why? Dirk

Why even make it look like there could be interior angles if you're not going to make them?
Maybe if the movement is used as a basis for a higher end complication, it will be easier for PP to decorate by hand?
In other words: We may have the movement sold now at the step of high machine finishing just before hand finishing would begin on a higher end piece.

(not in line with the subject, sorry ) After the launch of the Czapek Antarctique, Patek comes out with a similar architecture and rotor alloy...Naughty Naughty XD ...

... I wonder : the Pulsomax escapement is still used only in the regulator ? It has been abandoned by PP ? Was not working as well as expected ? Thanks.
