Shipping PP watch internationally - your advice please

Jul 15, 2020,08:54 AM

Dear all

I am based in Asia, and my regular PP AD is based in Europe.

I usually collect my acquisitions during my regular business trips to Europe.

My new acquisition has just arrived at the Europe based retailer. But given Covid-19 situation, it is really unlikely that I will travel to Europe in the next few months, and therefore I am exploring importing the watch into my home country in Asia. I have never done this before, neither has my AD.

So a question to the community here to seek your help: for those who have ship watches, what have been your experience? What to look out for? How to ensure safe passage?

Thank you.

Not sure where you reside in Asia but I’m sure the customs will examine the package and you will incur an import tax on the purchase. However, if you declared your purchases with customs while traveling back from Europe in the past then the import tax is ...

to ask your European retailer to hold on to to the watch until you are able to fly there to collect it. For the record, I buy my Pateks from a UK retailer and I am based in Malaysia. Within the next few months, I am expecting a new watch to be ready for d...

We all know that items imported or brought in person should be declared, doing otherwise constitutes an offence. The reality is however that everybody makes their own decisions.

What I'm curious about is this box business you mention, though, as this is not the first time I hear somebody mentioning shipping an empty box back. When the customs inspects the package, how would one provide proof of the value of the box, which is not ...

Nothing they can do

Even if customs knows what is going on checking it is unenforceable without some kind of global tax refund database. You are not forced to declare and justify all the items you are travelling with - your jacket, shoes, watch. Likewise if the customs recei...

about shipping this safely and securely, go with Malca - Amit. They are the vault of delivery but won’t be cheap.

Thanks to Mohannad’s recommendation, I used Ferrari Express. Seamless service. I would recommend it too. Thank you everyone for the advice

Good to know that the shipping has been smooth. I can imagine your happiness when anticipating and eventually receiving the timepiece.

In the end, it was simpler to just entrust it to Ferrari Express.
