Servicing query

Nov 05, 2019,17:27 PM

Hi fellow purists,

I was recently admiring the caliber 240 of my Calatrava 6000g, when I discovered (to my horror) scratches on the balance bridge.

The watch was sent for full servicing (for the first time) in 2017, and I had not noticed the scratches after collecting the watch.

Has anyone else experienced something similar before? If so, did you have to pay to get it rectified?

Thanks in advance!

J

Er, by the way, I quit buying PP long ago. High-end watches, cars and wives are all about long term service. I’ve been lucky with my one and only wife, no issues with a long string of Land Cruisers, but PP thanks but no thanks. I sincerely wish you good l...

Had it serviced by PP, of course! :) [nt]

Maintenance Costs

I agree. Servicing or maintenance cost on a PP is extremely high. I purchased a 5227G, a few years back. The money I spent on straps ($500.00 x2), and insurance were a complete waste. When I asked about the cost for regular servicing and a new spring bar,...

This is why you should only ever use the Patek Philippe service centre...... false economy destroyed your watch.......

I would take it to the Patek Philippe service centre and see the improvement...... Patek is like a Rolls Royce...... you don't use the cheapest mechanic when you have such a fine posession...... ...

Yups!

I sent it to the PP service centre. And will do so (again) to get this sorted out. Just wanted to gather more information before I do

Sadly is true

I have a good watchmaker but high end pieces or independents should be taken to the factory, Yo will see the difference with the loupe, also high end pieces all all about the finish that gets marked with the improper tools. There is an interesting piece i...

Regrettable but not surprising.

Stuff like this can happen with the volume of pieces being serviced and deadlines. Send it back and they will correct.
