You know they won’t as in same pieces it acts as a 3 o clock hour marker and in others they say it improves legibility

It has nothing to do with saving money, ability to manufacture etc...it’s their perception of aesthetics which some will or won’t like. I am not a huge fan of the AP 15202 with matching date wheel but on other watches sometimes I like. On a 5167 and 5711 I like the white otherwise it looks like hour marker fell off, I think you know about how that can look!,,

Fortunately on the 5520 the finishing is in a league similar to 5370 and has good black polish..anglage and sharp inner and outer angles. The 5524 was always criticized for the small movement. The 5520 is a completely new movement and PP appears not to have chosen to fill the case. Maybe it’s their way of saying complicated pieces should be squeezed into smaller movements to show mastery of the craft whereas bigger movements allow for bigger parts which makes life easier. ALS movements partly look so great due to the very thickness of the case which allows a greater 3D effect.

The 5524 was near impossible to get for the first two years and now it's a case if how many MUST I buy to get a Nautilus. This is still fairly scarce but launched in 2019 we still have time for it to be over produced and recent auction results had it a sm...

You just get what you like and thats the most important about our hobby imho .

I also like the unusual and sometimes quirky watches and this PP is a good example. I do like it .

Lovely photo.

Nice timepiece, and I look forward to when Patek harnesses the technology to make day/date/etc background wheels and text match the main dial. Does the movement have basic modern PP finishing work, or true handcrafting to Geneva Seal standards like PP's v...

With that blue dial if I remember correctly

PP logo

this is one of the (at least) two watches where the PP logo annoys me. lower sundial is much too full, the watch looks imbalanced. btw, the other one is 5231J where the big logo destroys the watch design totally for me also the four pushers are 'debatable...

i think it all boils down to personal preference...i always felt the 5524 a bit unbalanced with the large two pushers on one side and protruding so much...this .evens it out although

personally i would have liked them shaved down a few mm more...but short of getting a bespoke watch I doubt every watch will every requirement of a collector....

Personally,, like it a lot
