Platinum and diamond
Just out of curiosity, why is it some patek platinum watches have a diamond on the case at the 6 o'clock position whereas some don't? I was speaking with a dealer today who thought all PP Platinums have a diamond but I know that is not the case with the 5059. If the intent was to distinguish the platinums from the white gold, shouldn't they have done this to all platinum cases?

It is a relatively new feature.
For instance, the 5107P has a diamond and the earlier 3998P does not.
i believe all modern PT Pateks
come with the diamond. At least ones from the current collection

diamond at 6 oclock started with the 5056P annaul calender. truth is the i guess there is some excercise to distinguish the Plat fm the WG. like that feature.
