An unusual men's watch. Drawing on Patek's historic association with the Gondolo Club, the Gondolo series was launched in 1993.
The Reference 5098P was launched in 2007. Followed by the gold version. Currently, the only men's Gondolo in the catalogue are rectangular watches. The only tonneau case being the ladies Reference 7099.

This watch (from 2009) has a pink gold case; 42x32mm 8.9 mm. The case is barrel shaped, elongated and curved. On my slim wrist, it is comfortable. The slim strap is a Patek B C97.
The movement is the 25-21 REC (from 2007) Manual winding. Dimensions: 25 × 21.9 mm. Height: 2.57 mm. Number of parts: 142. Bridges: 7. Jewels: 18. Power reserve: Min. 44 hours. Balance: Gyromax®. Vibrations/hour: 28 800 (4 Hz). Balance spring: Spiromax®. Hallmark: Patek Philippe Seal.
The rhodium-gold plated guilloché dial, pink gold chapter ring with brown concentric Arabic numerals and outer minute track, brown pear hands. Once again, the watch is unusual with an interesting radiating guilloche pattern. The guilloche work at the center is incredibly fine.
The only annoyance is the small crown which is hard to grip. Surely a design mistake for a manual wind watch?
Anyone else with experiences with this watch?
