Specific Advice to 5109...
Oct 20, 2022,20:01 PM
That's right! I remember you have some experience with buying used watches. A used 5110P if I recall correctly, I remember that one since that's one of my personal favorite references.
When you look at the 5109, you'll see the watch is kind of like a reverse picture frame, there are four corners that frame the dial that makes the bezel. Notice, where the corners meet, there is a line. A poorly polished version of this watch would have some flattening of this line. I've seen 5109 watches before in person. I don't sharply recall how sharp this line was. But basically, look for an even-ness among all four lines in the four corners.
And I thank you for not mentioning the name of seller of your piece as we wouldn't want the conversation to skew about transactions with that specific seller and whether or not we trust that specific seller.

I stumbled across this Gondolo model and find it very interesting. Unfortunately, I couldn't find much information about the model and would be happy to learn some details that I should pay attention to when buying, especially about the original shape of ...
Lastly, don't buy it just because it's inexpensive!

Forgot to mention, a lot of people want an "inexpensive" Patek Philippe in their collection. Not saying that you want this. But don't be attracted to something just because it's inexpensive on the used market. Remember, always need to trust the seller fir...

I am a long time collector and know my due diligence. Maybe I was not clear enough with my questions. The watch on the pic is just an example for the model and is not subject to any discussion or question of mine. As I do not know the model well I am wond...

Thx again, Patrick. This is exactly the info I was looking for.

When researching on watch models I haven’t handled or seen before I often feel a bit uncomfortable as I could not develop a „feeling“ if the case is good or not. A post below is referring to the condition of the hallmarks which also is an indication. And ...
Most welcome!

The hallmarks is definitely a good indication, but sometimes polishers polish just the top of the watch and don't polish the backside where the hallmarks are. The backsides don't get scratched since it's always in contact with one's wrist.
Great advice

More often than not there's a reason why something is the cheapest.
LOL! Very funny!

When are we meeting again? Let's get a little shine in while the weather is still good and before COVID starts up again (the disease seems to spread more in the winter time).
Yes, the back is big and flat.

The backing is very big and flat. Which makes it less comfortable on the wrist for some.

Aren't this size. So if you have a smaller wrist, you may find it uncomfortable.

Wished they'd keep making this model!
;)

Has very wide lug width
By: watch-er : October 22nd, 2022-14:31
which can be a little different in look but helps stabilize the watch on the wrist. I like the thinness of the watch.
