PATEK PHILIPPE CALATRAVA 1932-2012

Jan 01, 2012,11:34 AM

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL PURISTS!

The new year 2012 will also be the 80th Anniversary of Calatrava.

Let's have a Roll Call. Show us your Calatrava. In our community we should have a great collection.

Patek Philippe Calatrava Travel Time, ref. 5134G is my second Calatrava and I like it a lot. The only problem is that the two hour hands are too similar and that problem was fixed in the final version of 5134.

However, as a normal one-timezone watch this was is very readable. Here is mine:

How does your favorite Calatrava look like?

Best, Kari

In my eyes it's the nicest Calatrava in the current collection. Perhaps next year... Best, Kari

Geeee, Nicolas. I saw it yesterday at PP in Geneva, an absolute beauty, sits bigger than its 37mm on the wrist, a timepiece which definitely talks lauder in the "flesh" than the pictures. Hope you're well. Perhaps a cafe in Paris next week? Kind regards F...

Yes !

Hi Nico, If I had one to post, it would have been this one. A design of the dial so deliciously old school, plenty of charm... Very difficult to shoot anyway, because on pictures this watch seems to be fade and cold, without character. In reality, light m...

Gone, sadly.... [nt]

A matching watch for the wife is really nice. Now we have matching Reversos, matching Breguets and Matching Golden Ellipse. Calatravas are on the list. Best, Kari

Cold in Malta?

 By: dr.kol : January 2nd, 2012-07:05
I guess you don't know what cold means! Here it's raining ICE and that combined with strong wind is really cold. Anyhow, these sector dials are very nice and my next Calatrava will be either 5196P or 5296G. Best, Kari

WOW! That is a superb Wristshot, John! Sensual and beautiful.

Patek 3820R ultra-thin in rose gold. 32mm... fancy lugs. Rose gold case, rose gold minute dropplets on light creme dial, Bruguet hands and numbers but IMPORTANT that the numbers are less italics than standard production version (in other words, non-standa...

A very nice Calatrava!

 By: dr.kol : January 2nd, 2012-07:48
Do you know what's the movement? Is it 177? Funny how watches just a bit over a decade ago were so much smaller. Anyhow, I have started to understand these smaller size watches and it feels a bit stupid when so many modern watches are having so much empty...

Yes, movement is Patek Philippe Caliber 177/02, extra-thin. .nt.

 By: Nomer : January 2nd, 2012-14:43
Only one Calatrava here - the older officer pre-dates the Calatrava line by a few years. All the best and thanks for the question Kari. p.s. Nice to see another 5053 in white gold in this thread; hard to come by....

Best Patrice...

Very nice.

 By: dr.kol : January 2nd, 2012-23:26
What would you think about the same with dark blue dial? Best, Kari

Funny how the case looks big on your wrist

 By: amanico : January 2nd, 2012-23:27
While you have not a small wrist, and while the 6000 is not a big watch. I love a lot the case on this one. More macho than on other Caltravas, still elegant. Nice picture, too! Best, Nicolas.

I love this watch!

 By: patrick_y : January 7th, 2012-14:38
Great photo of your beautiful 6000G! A little surprising it is on its original strap this time! Enjoy!

5134g (Travel Time)

Here's the latest (but now discontinued) version of the 5134g ("Travel Time")...

Nice!

 By: dr.kol : April 3rd, 2012-22:44
I think 5134 is one of the most useful complications of Patek. With World Time it is difficult to travel to west but 5134 is very easy to use and it is also very readable. Enjoy yours. Best, Kari
