for most of their existence, up until 2000. JLC was (and still is) considered the best haute horlogerie movement supplier - still supplying (albeit quietly) the top brands in the world. It's why I keep buying THEIR watches (best bang-for-the-buck!).

accuracy? Cheers Gordon

To be honest: I don't know.

This is a new watch I tried to buy for several years: one owner, complete, never polished, hardly worn. The watchmaker of Patek Philippe said that looking at the movement, the watch has hardly been worn. His guess was max one month on the wrist during the...

Thank you dr.kol for giving....

the rare opportunity to admire this movement. Congratulations on your purchase! Best Regards. Edward

Thank you Edward.

The seller of this specific watch said for two years "NO!". And suddenly we could agree. I think it helped that I was not willing to sell my extra cork box. This watch came (originally) with the Ellipse shaped black box having red leather lining. But beca...

you were in love with the piece more then the original owner I did a little bit of reading last night about the movement in 3700-011 and I concluded that this is one of the most desirable quality movements you would like in your watch. Cheers Kari. Edward...

Thanks Edward

The movement is desirable and version 3700-001 in my opinion is even more desirable than this 3700-011 because 001 is the very original Nautilus. The newer 011 is perhaps having a nicer bracelet and thus, both are nice. Now I'm lucky to have both versions...

That's interesting taking time to see how movements evolved

in terms of decoration.... Another era... And it looks to be in a fantastic shape as well. Thanks for thinking about showing us this caliber. Cheers, Mark

In the photos it looks quite basic

and the decoration is not really visible. But when the experienced Patek's Master Watchmaker says that it's basically unused and probably unopened, it's enough for me. It starts to be a bit dry and according to the watchmaker needs service within "a year,...

The caliber 28-255 was a JLC ebauche

This extremely thin caliber was developed by JLC (Caliber 920) and was, at the time, used by PP, VC and Audemars Piguet.

The only weak spot of the 3700

There are many things to love

and I much prefer the movement of 3700 to the one of 5711. The modern movement is very basic and I can't see anything special in it. Sorry for being honest. Best, Kari

one of the most ingenious aspects of the 920, on which the rotor "floats" above the dial plane. -Dean

Seal

I've read that this movement didn't have a Geneva Seal. Thank you for your photos I see that was incorrect. Best
