But I just can't agree that PP did not make large price increases during the boom years. Just for example the 5712 has increased by 10k from its original price in 3 yrs. The 5960P went up over 20k in the same space of time. These are substantial increases... 

you're counting in USD and that is the reason why it became more expensive. Your USD became worthless. In Euro the 5960 for example only went up 10% since january 2006.

5711, 5712, 5780 , 5760, 5165, 5167 ?? Those were sought after because they were new. Waitinglists for those are almost gone Now, I know quite a few people whou would kill for a 5070 , 5970 or 5004 and afaik nothing changed if you want one of those
