New shoes for my beloved 5100.
Dec 02, 2018,00:42 AM
I prefer the Matt chocolate brown to the original gloss black. Is it heresy to change?

No heresy, here. At the contrary, I would say that the change is mandatory. Matt brown is a great choice for a yellow gold case. [nt]

Nice new shoes, they do indeed match the case and dial perfectly! For as long as they are original Patek, changing is allowed 😂 [nt]

Yep, the AD had a bunch of samples in different colors, so I chose this extra flashy red strap to made the watch less dramatic, and Patek sent it complimentary within a few days. Quick and simple, and I've never changed it since;-) [nt]

In 2000 when the 5100 was produced

black leather straps seemed like standard issue on watches. Nowadays though, dark brown, burgundy and dark blue seem to match the various metals much better. Well done on the change!!

We looked at the Matt blue too but I guess I’m a little restrained! [nt]

you have good taste and the strap you chose adds further class and elegance to the watch.
