Thanks Fred for your input. This definitely does not immediately strike as a Patek! :-) For classical Patek elegance we should turn to the other two releases today (the 5370P and 5270J)...

...while this reference is arguably a significant departure from the more traditional models. Keep in mind that the technical advances contained in it are rather groundbreaking -- it's the same model that we discussed last year for the Singapore exhibit, where it was first presented as a LE of 12 pieces. However, the way the dial is organized, especially the "open" tourbillon, has expectedly been controversial ;-)

I'm curious to see how collectors will react now that the 5303 has officially joined the regular catalog... For sure, I think that those who hope to choose among a few bolder references have good reasons to be satisfied here, while the more traditional collectors of the brand are likely to remain skeptical of the 5303, at least at the beginning...;-) Cheers.

Almost, Interesting redesign...

The 5303 was first seen as a limited edition of 12 watches at the Watch Art Grand Exhibition Singapore 2019. ...

Aaaah ... missed this one [nt]

Unique can only one of its kind

They own one of twelve.

For Patek, maybe, for some other brands, no...

JLC, of course: Girard Perregaux, too... And probably some others... ...

I am not a tourbillon expert but if you look at it...the cage still appears to be on the reverse meaning that what you can

See on the dial is the fact it’s the back of the tourbillon cage because of the open works...I could be wrong tho

I think the point here is that they came up with a new anti-UV coating, so this takes away the main (technical) concerns to show a tourbillon...

But I find it an interesting departure from the unwritten rule that, at Patek, everything on the dial needs to have a function... I think this was the main controversial aspect for some collectors after Singapore. Nothing right or wrong either way IMO, bu...

+1. [nt]

Thanks Captain for breaking the news! I knew this was the "week" of the three grand complications, but was frankly expecting them to be public on the 18th! ;-))

Great to see the 5303 in the regular production, a natural move after the Singapore introduction. It was one of the most innovative -- and controversial -- novelties there, I'm curious to see how it will be received by collectors now... ;-) I haven't seen...

Always happy to be of service ☝️...

Need a picture of the back if the watch as it looks great

 By: FRAMII : July 14th, 2020-05:49
I’m not the possibility customer for this watch. Not a big fan of open watches. In my humble opinion this watch would be even greater with an enamel dial but showing the MR function. But I have a feeling Patek knows better then me 😏

Gentlemen: At the risk if heresy, let me say this piece leaves me cold. To me, it represents Patek bowing to a trend toward bigger, bolder, more (uselessly) complex… toys!

Does this immediately strike (sorry for the reference) anyone here as a PP? Actually? Well, I may be entirely out of step. No, allow me to rephrase… Clearly I AM entirely out of step. But the bedrock of Patek seems shaken by this bruiser. Simple elegance ...

Poor mans version 😂😂😂

I have a feeling that I’m to poor for both versions 😟

Yes and only on the quarter hour as well [nt]

 By: Patekphilippecollector : July 15th, 2020-02:22

It looks good in real life but I don't think I will buy a 5520P

 By: DOCSF : July 15th, 2020-07:43
You are right they could have incorporated the Alarm complication to a Nautilus or any other watch. May be they are saving it for the 50th anniversary of Nautilus!

5740P lol [nt]

 By: Patekphilippecollector : July 15th, 2020-07:52

5740P salmon dial with a £ 200K price tag!

 By: DOCSF : July 15th, 2020-07:59
That is too predictable. Again things are predictable these days

Imagine in a 5531 [nt]

this one is truly amazing [nt]

I do like this new PP a lot .

 By: Watchonthewrists : July 14th, 2020-09:47
Love that open style dial and that case , especially the side looks stunning.

Very thin given the complications, but the movement is tiny!

 By: mdg : July 14th, 2020-12:50
...people seem to be cutting PP slack even though they are using a huge (but beautiful) spacer. Maybe they're using that gap to their advantage, but it looks kind of lazy. On the plus side, the finishing looks spectacular.

This is beyond spectacular. [nt]
