New acquisition of 5131J

Oct 15, 2021,15:20 PM

Just pick up this new member of 5131 family.
My first impression to this first version of cloisonne world time was actually fair. I preferred the more colorful G and R versions.
Besides, yellow gold was also not my favorite.
However, as my age increases, I gradually appreciate the charm of yellow gold, which matches the green continents on the map perfectly. The yellow colour in Africa is also very eye-catching.
This sample also carries the less commonly seen light blue shoreline in J version, hence……. I pulled the trigger few days ago.
Wish all fellow members a wonderful weekend!

Best, Henry

The yellow enamel in Africa is great because it is bright and eye 👁 catching ! 👍 You now must get the G to complete the set ! 💪 The blue shoreline for each continent is indeed rare.

Fully agree my friend 👍

Wow, what a beauty!! A classic, handsome example of Patek at its best.

And I agree, yellow gold is making a bit of a comeback. This looks great on you.

You are far better with it. Enjoy your new WT, a PP without the cold PP letter style. Albeit other great watch maisons use cold letter styles, Baume and Mercier, Girard Perregaux. It’s graphical, albeit that’s my roots. What a wonderful products are the P...

Congratulations!

Although I prefer the case of the 5231 this one is incredibly beautiful as well

Thank you, Erik. On the contrary, I slightly prefer the case of 5131/ 5130 more than 5231/5230, as the old version has a smoother and more continuous contour. The one piece construction of crown guard is a nice feature too.

However, I do agree the cloisonné dial of 5231J is more refined than 5131J. After all, 5131J is the first cloisonné world map in the modern Patek reference, the experience of the enamelist perhaps was perhaps less than 5231J now.

Huge congrats 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
