Thks fr sharing your experiences. Very "human". I have the Dato as well, which as we talk, is back for a service. I am very careful when I wear any watches, so so far I have never bang my dato around. I owe some seriously huge watches...55mm being the biggest, so when I wear gentlemen itches, I find them very comfortable and I don't have to be that careful.

I don't have the 5059, but amongst my regular beaters is the 5960p, which I find quite legible, and also versus the dato, a easier watch to live with, largely because it's self winding, and like you, is being more regularly then the dato. Interestingly, I had dinner with few purist yesterday, all of them dato owners, and it seems the biggest complain is the relatively low power reserve, something you have not raised. And the common complement, the beautiful movement, which you allures to as well.

Anyway, wear them in good health, and enjoy your watches. Great stuff. What daily beater are you thinking of getting? Sports watch?
