Lange service
Dear CL,
I am quite familiar with Lange's service due to several manufacturer visits. In fact, Lange will apply welding tech only for (very) deep scratches. For most (over 90%) of polishing work, they just polish the case like any other high-end brands.

I'm just sitting here admiring my 5970G and thinking I will send my watch for servicing in 7-10 years time but not polishing it till 20 years later. Let it gather the marks it will accumulate over the 20 years life span. I wonder what you guys think , so ...

he never service his watch, so I would think if no problem just keep wearing it till the day comes call for service. polish of the case, yes and know, yes if you want it to look new again, no if there is some mark you want to remember ...

A Patek with only a 20 year lifespan? What about the notion of never really owning a Patek, but only taking care of it for the next generation? I'm expecting my 5970 to be running for long after 20 years are up. Eric von Schonberg
