The size IS perfect.

I love the work on the case with the two tone polishing
But again, no love at first sight. Which is a shame on such a complicated piece ! But Which is good as I had no budget smile
I had a real emotion when I first tried a 5078p... and this is why I pulled the trigger for the 5078g where the dial, IMO, is much nicer btw.
It is cool that we can sometimes have greater emotions with a β€œsimple” piece as a 3998 or a 3800 than with a grande complications

Just curious: any 5372P owner out there?

Not much discussion here since it was released. Thanks! Images from Patek's website. ...

Fancy watch but

If that kind of money d be around i think i d take the 5531 rather.

I may be wrong here

 By: sham1 : May 20th, 2018-01:04
but I think the 5531R is a lot more money. I too would take the 5531R over almost any watch of any brand!

Forgive me George!

I could not quite understand what you meant.

Really??!!

 By: sham1 : May 20th, 2018-02:51
I am shocked. I know the 5531R is about Β£420k to Β£425k in the UK. Will speak to my AD tomorrow to find out the price of the 'other watch'. If they are priced in the same bracket, that would be ludicrous. A 5950 or 5959 (I know, I know they have been disco...

and what yr AD said? [nt]

So sorry for the delayed reply

 By: sham1 : May 28th, 2018-20:52
The 5372P costs about 10% lower than the 5531R so you are right in that it is in a similar price bracket which explains why the 5372P is unlikely to be a big seller.

Thanks for the info Fab5119R!

I hope to see some wristshots soon here as well 😊

The case size

 By: sham1 : May 20th, 2018-01:03
at 38.5mm was so right that I thought it would attract many purists to it. But the dial of the 5370P despite its 41mm diameter is arguably more attractive. I know a few purists who are eagerly awaiting for launch of the the 5370R!!

I agree that there are more attractive dials out there

5372's dial disappointed me at the beginning, but would love to see it in person, I'm sure it's "not that bad" πŸ˜‰

Unfortunately, at this price bracket

 By: sham1 : May 21st, 2018-22:16
a dial that is 'not that bad' would not suffice. It has to be pretty incredible at the very least!

That is simply because

we all have great tastes my friend!

Very few

I suspect. The super high end market is not as robust as it was in the early 2000's.

Why not ?good food ,great company!;-)

...

By my calculations I'd need a net worth around $100 million before I could afford a watch like this.

I currently have to live vicariously through watch forums.

Cool piece for sure

 By: keks : May 21st, 2018-10:59
Perfect size, subdials arranges in a very appealing and symmetric manner, amazing complications in a wonderful case.... But personally financial reasons aside, it would not be my first pick in that stratosphere. Perhaps it is the cutouts on the dial that ...

I know we don’t discuss prices but.......

........when you see 5207s hammer at usd500k inc commission it does make you wonder about the state of the market for modern super Complication Pateks.

True

 By: keks : May 22nd, 2018-01:56
But this kind of watch I would personally not wear on a regular basis.... if I had to pick one for daily use you are correct!

This is way out of my budget, but I would wear it on a daily basis (office environment) if I could afford it.

 By: 1WatchMan : May 22nd, 2018-02:53
To me, a PC doesn't make any sense if you don't wear it for long periods, so that you can enjoy the complication.

I do agree on that watches are to be worn...

 By: keks : May 22nd, 2018-09:26
And he size and understated dial options make this an ideal daily candidate. Still not my top pick in this price range however.... even for a daily office watch...

if we were to play the game... of pick any watch of choice made by PP in similar price range beyond my current reach with the requirement of daily wear... then

 By: keks : May 22nd, 2018-10:42
for me I would have to go with any one of the below, in no particular order or preference - 3670A - 5950A - 5004A - 5951P black dial.....

β€œCould suffice”.... ;)

 By: keks : May 23rd, 2018-01:28
Hahaha.... anything less would be tough I suppose...

I have seen the watch in person but never in my wrist unfortunately....

 By: keks : May 21st, 2018-23:23
I am sure it feels great on the wrist as size is perfect....

I tried on the salmon/champagne dial version of this reference

It is beautiful. Complications are amazing. But... no love at first sight...

Thank you JC/!

 By: 1WatchMan : May 21st, 2018-22:58
I like the "more real look" of your pictures. Definitely I'm sure that it's a piece that gains a lot in person. And also curious about the size, which looks perfect on paper.

The size IS perfect.

I agree, I don't buy any piece (at any price point) if I don't have a real emotion when I try it on

 By: 1WatchMan : May 22nd, 2018-02:58
Btw, the 5078 is a work of art, "simplicity" at it's best!

Lots of great comments here.

 By: Conkers : May 24th, 2018-17:45
For me I wear a lot of very large watches so it really limits my appetite for most Pateks. The 5207 size is far preferable to me than the 5372 but I appreciate the size of the latter is far more classic Patek. Great to see the wrist shots. I have never ha...

The 5372P is one of my favourite modern grand complications!

Last year I was in the market for a Patek rattrapante, budget was not a consideration as I was celebrating a special occasion. Firstly, I agonised over the 5204P, before I concluded that it lacked something and that I was mesmerised by it for the wrong re...
