Before going for a part exchange in Paris. Good bye beauty, but I needed some more substance in my life. ...

Welcome in Paris! [nt]

See if I can find time to pass by Macedo’s shop too.

Post some pictures if the deal pushes through. 👍

So long as you have no regrets and are happy. That's what is important. Good luck. Geross 😊

Thanks Geross- yeah I can’t wait😀

The way these “sports” watches are moving makes a lot of sense to trade for more upscales PPs. Will post for sure as soon as it’s on the wrist.

Thank you FabR!

I can say that it is a watch that has not been very appreciated in this forum. I absolutely loved it from the first time I laid eyes on it and tried it on. So clean so sharp so balanced so subtle. The perfect modern PP ( pour moi en tout cas)

I am enjoying it. The exchange is on right now-see pics

What a fabulous chrono. The softness of the pushers leave no distance at all to the Dato which I operated yesterday.. ...

Hi FabR it’s the P- fabulous

 By: jlc.thomsen : September 12th, 2019-08:35
I want another strap though. Any suggestions? Less formal than the shiny alligator.🙃

That's even better:-) Patek itself might have a number of options, though you may have to check with an AD on what's available for a specific model (or else just ask, for instance, CF)...

 By: FabR : September 12th, 2019-08:44
I recall I immediately changed the boring strap that came with this one (a Gondolo) with a shiny red one, chosen among what Patek had in stock...it might also match your dial, among several other options, looking much more fun and less formal ;-) Cheers. ...

Nice Gondolo-there’s nothing like Pateks salmon

I think I’d stay with some blue tones for the 5170. Maybe with some black stitchings.

That would be cool!

I have a flight from Orly at 9:30 if you send me a pm with an address for an apero I can be there in max 1 hour maybe less.

Good luck with the trade!

Did you have one as well if I remember correctly? Really difficult to catch that dial in the shop with all these spots. ...

Congrats!

An excellent exchange! The 5170P is phenomenal. I love mine. Don't mind I share a pic of mine in more "natural" light ...

Wooo yes it is Benlee!

 By: jlc.thomsen : September 12th, 2019-08:59
Some natural light here too. But whatever you do doesn’t reflect the real thing. This is what is so gorgeous about these well made things. What do you think about the strap btw? ...

Midnight Blue

Caught up in horological talk almost missed my plane. The dial played out nicely in the taxi and you can sense the subtle deep reflexions here. However as the car was moving I could’t get it completely focused. Nothing is perfect. Except that watch! ...

That's a good sign! [nt]

Yes maybe Haldimann’s H9 makes sense after all

I dont like the default strap

 By: benlee338 : September 14th, 2019-03:14
which is black and glossy. I swap it immediately for a blue leather strap and much happier with the result.

Thank you benlee! [nt]

enjoy wearing your new watch baby often !

Thank you Glau. I will wear if often!

 By: jlc.thomsen : September 12th, 2019-09:37
Watches are for wearing not for keeping in the dark vaults!

i am not a dress watch fan but..

 By: Peter : September 13th, 2019-04:05
the 5170P is by far the most beautiful watch that i own. wear it as often as you can, it matches with any dress style!!!

Cool- did you do anything about the strap Peter?

 By: jlc.thomsen : September 13th, 2019-05:59
I simply don’t like the strap and the fact that it gets so narrow on the clasp side makes it unstable with the heft of the watch Pleas post some pics of yours! ...

I am with you! Please send some pics.

 By: jlc.thomsen : September 13th, 2019-13:03
I love the watch but that thin deployment is just not right for the heft on the other side.

there you go:::)))

 By: Peter : September 14th, 2019-02:19
...

Much much better Peter-thanks for the pick

Now the hunt for an appropriate solution. Looks like I’m weating my wifes watch from this side 🤪 And the gravity pushes the watch to the left no matter how tight I wear it. ...
