In these challenging times how about a pleasant survey diversion - who owns a Patek perpetual chrono and when and why did you choose yours?

I will be happy to start. For quite some time I have wanted to add a round PPC to enhance and possibly complete my collection. I pondered which model to get. 1518 and 2499 are extraordinary but were eliminated as possibilities. For me, too expensive and not as practical as the modern PPC which can be quick set via 4 correctors and is somewhat water resistant. That meant 3970, 5970 or 5270.
3970 for the money is IMHO is as good as it gets. With the clear DNA of 2499, but with its modern technical practicality and at the price of a current “simple” chronograph a gold 3970 is an unbeatable value. That said, for whatever the reason on my wrist, it was not my top choice.
5270 is amazing. Totally in house movement, less busy dial, available at “reasonable” prices. What is there not to like?
Which brings me to 5970. This watch for me is perhaps the best Patek of the modern era. I realize this is a highly subjective viewpoint. I am also excluding the stratosphere priced watches such as the incredible 5016 and 3974. My choice came down to the J, the least expensive variant or the P. In my view the J is the most classic with a vintage feel accentuated by its white dial. But platinum is well ... platinum. But aside from that, in my hands the black dial and white metal case combination literally took my breath away. So at the very end of last month, right before the stock/economy plunge, I took the plunge and bought this watch which I am absolutely thrilled to own.
So I would love to see images of other members’ PPCs and read about when and why they purchased the ones they own.
Stay safe everybody!
