you, not PP. They have been making outstanding watches since 1839 and they have never targeted the...water-resistence-besotted...crowd. Buy your "grail", take another 100MTS W.R. watch with you at all times, so that when you'll need to...wash your hands...you, can wear the other one. Best of both worlds

I am sure they can easily achieve 60 m waterproofing with modern technology.
It is just that the industry norm for WR is 30 m in dress and/or high complications watches, and apparently it's been accepted so far by the buyers. It is a great idea to increase WR to respectable level in all modern watches.

In my mind the issue is...
There are so many points of possible ingress for water, due to the numerous dimples on the case to set the day/date/moonphase/etc. A mechanism such as IWC’s where all Perpetual adjusting takes place through the crown makes it WAY easier to seal it up nice...

For a practically water resistant watch (ie. 100M), you need to have screw down crown and screw down pushers for chronograph. That would markedly alter the style of dressing watch like 5270. After all, you can’t expect all chronograph looks like Daytona ...

None of them make this a justifiable issue though, Breitling just came out with a 5270 knockoff that has a 100M WR and no screw down pushers. I am thinking of picking that up for a daily wear and keeping the difference towards another watch TBH
