I think the experience is very new to Patek buyers pre explosive price action.
But for vintage collectors of Rolex the price action represents supply and demand. The least scarce the desirable models are the more pressure on price. But the price action resides in the most desirable models rather than the more complicated model which is good news for the guy trading up in complication who has a bird in tye hand.
