Patek Philippe

Going back and forth on this piece. My most regularly worn pieces are the 5960P-001 and 5712/1A and contemplating adding a summer watch. Up for consideration are 5960/1A, 5712R, 5980R, and 5980/1A-014. Now the first 2 are metal variations of what I alread... 

Highly recommended and the composite strap is soft and very comfortable to wear. No problem with the hot, wet summer.

thanks for the feeback. So you do not find the 5980R's height and weight to be an issue with the composite strap I assume? On the leather strap I assume it will be quite snug and comfortable as I like to wear my watches reasonably tight to the wrist to av...

i like the 5960/1A a lot, particularly on a soft strap. My issue in acquiring this lies twofold. One is the lack of water resistance which i suspect would be bothering me in a summer watch. Two is the feeling of having to acquire a 5712R to make for some ...

I fully understand your will to avoid getting watch which are to close (as having a smae ref in 2 different material). I would of course act the same way, even if it is more to me, in the end, the fact to know which one is the one I would like to wear mos...

i am wearing the 5980R as summer daily now. I prefer this ref over my 5712/1A and 5980/1A black. The R is simply the best Nautilus if you want gold. The composite strap is perfectly paired. No heights and heft issue at all. And a Nautilus on strap, after ... 

Thanks for posting this response. Fantastic set of Nautiluses you have. Nice spread in dial colors and variety. I used to own the 5980/1A blue and found it wears quite differently from the 5712/1A. Would you say on the composite strap that the 5980R wears... 

Sorry for my late reply. The 5980R is a bit top heavy but it doesn't bother me. The composite strap is very comfortable. The watch wears very differently than the steel one. 5980R is way more substantial on wrist. Hope this helps.

This is the watch to go! Congratulations! You will never get bored of it. Many ppl think a Nautilus should be on bracelet. But, 5980R and 5712R can easily stand on their own.
